Histology
Histology, also known as microscopic anatomy or microanatomy, is the part of biology that analyses the microscopic anatomy of biological tissues. It is the microscopic equivalent to gross anatomy, which seems like larger structures visible without a microscope.
Most histological specimens require preparation before microscopic research; these processes depend on the sample and process of observation.
