CO2 Incubator

CO2 Incubator

It is used in research to grow and maintain cell cultures.

A CO2 incubator is employed to culture cells to maintain it with the optimum temperature, moisture (sterile environment) and pH. When the media contains carbonate buffer, the CO2 gas from the cylinder is let into the incubator in such a process that the pH remains constant.

High concentrations of carbon dioxide reduce the pH. This happens due to the fact that carbon dioxide reacts with water and forms carbonic acid, and it dissociates to release proton H and bicarbonate ion, as a result, pH decreases.

The Advanced Direct Heating system, with its 4 independently controlled elements and seven thermal sensors, provides unparalleled temperature uniformity and therefore the solid-state IR CO2 sensor guarantees the most precise control on gas levels.
