Cytoclear Cytoplasm Remover

ProCell Cytogenetics Reagents product range was developed in collaboration with scientists working in a clinical oncology cytogenetics unit. The ProCell range is designed to improve culture failure rates, mitotic index, metaphase spreading, banding resolution and overall quality of bone marrow, lymphoma, solid tumour, blood, CVS and Amniocentesis samples for cytogenetic analysis.

Cytoclear is a newly developed product (consisting of a mixture of protein detergents) which can quickly dissolve and remove persistent cytoplasm (mainly caused by inadequate hypotonic treatment) during the methanol:acetic acid fixation stage of the chromosome harvesting procedure. In particular, it dissolves the lipid and glycoprotein structure of which cytoplasm is mainly composed. Clumped metaphases that would normally be impossible to analyse, can now be restored. Cytoclear is a useful tool in FISH hybridizations as it enables the probe to reach the target by removing barrier cytoplasm.

Cytoclear is an effective, easy-to-use product that improves the quality of both brightfield and FISH samples by removing troublesome cytoplasm. Cytoclear is incorporated into the fix stage of the harvest, usually requiring little change to existing procedures and is appropriate for both freshly fixed and archived fixed suspensions. Cytoclear can be used to
rescue cultures that have harvested badly.
